LWC Basic Beliefs

LWC is a traditional church that has not wandered far from its local roots in 1887.   We simply believe the Bible to be the Word of God and a worthy compass for our daily lives.  We desire to do our part in helping others and ourselves grow spiritually.   We see value and need to both encourage and challenge each other to live as our maker designs.  We do this by focusing on worship, teaching, service, and fellowship.

LWC is evangelical in the original sense.  Evangelical means, “good news (message)”.  GOOD NEEWS implies previous “bad news.  Below is how God has brought the “bad” and the “good” together.

  • Man has sinned both actively and by omission (bad news).
  • That sin separates from God and leaves a spiritual void between the creator and us (worse news).
  • It also makes me not worthy of Heaven (the very worst news).
  • HOWEVER, God did not leave us and has now in Jesus bridged the sin and relationship gap!
  • Those who, in an attitude of humility and repentance seek Jesus can live a new life both on earth and in the afterlife! His desire is forgiveness and eternity with me!!   THAT IS THE GOOD NEWS!

Meet our Pastor

Ron and Rita

Ron Forsythe became Lancaster Pastor in July of 2023.

Ron spent his early years milking cows and going to school. His years after school have focused on hospice chaplaincy (19 years) as well as serving part time/full time in ten churches.

While he is a “senior” he is quite active and can be seen walking/jogging around town as well as riding his bike.  He also enjoys fishing and some golf as time allows.

He is an avid Michigan/Detroit sports fan having been raised in Coldwater where his father was an owner/operator (steel hauling) and mother worked in production.  Both passed prior to his 27th birthday.

His wife Rita is from Fairmount and was an active member of Fairmount Baptist through her childhood.  She has an education degree from Marion College (Indiana Wesleyan) and works alongside Ron in several areas.

Ron sees himself as a pastor to the community, especially to those who have no church connection or need extra pastoral support.  His passions and experience make him often available for,

  1. Shut in or nursing home needs of loved ones.
  2. Hospice type needs if your loved ones need support.
  3. Funerals and memorial services.
